The Peninsulas offer a variety of opportunities for cyclists, ranging from easy routes that families can enjoy together, through to more challenging mountain routes for the more adventurous to follow.

When it comes to cycling, you’ll find that whatever type of bike you ride, there will be something to keep busy as you explore our peninsulas.

Mountain and adventure bikers will find great glens through the mountains to travel where paths and trails are left behind. On these you may find deer and eagles are your only companions.

Road cyclists of all abilities will find circular routes through Kingairloch or right round Sunart and Moidart and back to Glenfinnan and Fort William. We also have one of the ‘top ten’ road hill climbs in Scotland in Sunart and narrow, twisty roads out to the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse.

Families will find easier routes in the ancient Ariundle Oakwoods in Strontian, on forest tracks throughout Drimnin or out to Singing Sands from Kentra all magical and historical places to discover.

None of these trails are way marked or signposted - we prefer it that way as it encourages a sense of exploration and discovery. It also helps make a truly memorable stay.
