The Future for Sunart Oakwoods Initiative

The Sunart Oakwoods Initiative (SOI)wants you to be involved in its future development. The SOI is a partnership between Forestry Commission Scotland, Scottish Natural Heritage, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Highland Council, landowners and community groups. The SOI area covers Sunart, Morvern, Ardnamurchan, Ardgour and Moidart. It aims to restore and expand the local oakwoods and bring conservation, economic and amenity benefits. Among other achievements so far are 26,500m of footpaths and over 700 training opportunities.
During September and October we are running community workshops in all the areas.(Details can be found in the 'Whats On' section). This is your chance to give us your views on possible future projects. We will also be at some of the local shows, in the forestry tent. We look forward to meeting you and hearing your views.
